Requirement
Johnson Controls Metasys needs to access data held in an OPC server.
Connection
OPC server → OPC2BACnet → BACnet/IP → Johnson Controls Metasys. The source describes OPC2BACnet as making OPC server data available through a BACnet/IP server interface.
Checks before configuration
Check the connection conditions at both ends.
- Confirm that the OPC server is available and identify the Items or points to read.
- Connect OPC2BACnet to the OPC server and associate the points with its BACnet/IP interface.
- Confirm that Metasys uses BACnet/IP and check interface settings against the project network plan.
Verification
Start with one point that can be checked in the field. Compare its value and update behavior in the OPC server, OPC2BACnet and Metasys before adding more points.
