Select Local mode

In the interface documented by the X2View user manual, create or open a test project, enter the driver configuration window and choose Tools → Monitoring Mode → Local. You can also switch modes by double-clicking the current mode in the bottom status bar. To simulate device data, check the simulation drivers and examples supplied with your installed package. Do not treat values from disconnected real-device tags as valid test inputs.

Start and check software operation

Choose Tools → Start Monitoring. In Local mode, this starts the X2ViewRunTime program and monitors software simulation data on the PC. Use test data to check tag values, quality, screens and logic. When using the local web service, check its port under the documented IoT → Local Web Server settings. If another program occupies that port, select an available port.

Validate the deployed system

Choose Tools → Stop Monitoring when local testing is complete. For deployment, switch to Gateway/Touchscreen mode, upload the project to the target and validate serial settings, field protocols, real I/O wiring, output behavior and execution intervals. Passing a local simulation does not establish that field hardware and communication have been validated.
